3 Juice Recipes to Slow Down Aging

Fresh vegetable and fruit juices provide lots of benefits for the body, including slowing down or even (to some extent) reversing aging.

Many people seem to show the signs of aging more and more rapidly these days, which shows especially on their skin and around their waistline, and one of the reasons is the huge amount of toxins that we’re exposed to every day. All the antioxidants and other phyto-nutrients that are abundant in fresh juices help the body detoxify, lose weight, as well as protect it from further exposure.

So what recipes are geared towards longevity?

Healthy Liver Tonic

Makes 1 serving

1 dandelion root (or 4 radishes)
1/2 beet including top
2 carrots
1 apple, cut into wedges

A tonic is a substance that improves tone or function. A liver tonic is a substance that specifically improves the function of the liver, the most important organ of metabolism and detoxification. If dandelion roots cannot be found, substitute 4 radishes.

Beauty Potion Juice

Makes 1-2 servings

2-3 parsnips
2-3 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 apple

Juice and serve immediately to help even out your skin tone (vitamin C), smooth those wrinkles (manganese), and maintain your quick-wittedness with the high levels of folate (yes, juicing is good for your brain too)!

Anti-Aging Skin Health Juice

Makes 1-2 servings

3 carrots
1 apple
1/2 fennel bulb
1 turnip
1/2 lemon (peeled)

Juice all the ingredients, pour, sip and smile. Vitamin C and manganese in this juice will help clear the skin and have wrinkle soothing effect. Smiling helps you stay young longer, too ;-).

My Juicer: Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain

The juicer that I currently use (BTW it’s the same as filmed in the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary) is Breville Juice Fountain JE98XL which you can find on Amazon or in any store that carries kitchen appliances. If you’re on the market for a juicer, it's a good juicer to consider.
