3 Of The Best Juice Machines 2012

Over the last 20 years, I have bought 1000’s of pounds of fruit and veggies for making fresh juice, and have used practically every juice machine available. Some worth mentioning, others not.

A poorly designed cheap-made juice machine will quickly end up locked away in the closet or cupboard. Your juice machine should sit proudly on the counter next to your coffee machine, where it will get used regularly. For this to happen, I have found that a juice machine has to work well and be simple to clean.

Occasionally, you can get by doing things on the cheap, but this isn’t the case with juice machines. These machines are expected to do lots of work, either chewing through tough veggies, or spinning rapidly at high RPM’s. A well-built motor is essential, and hard-wearing materials at friction points, this includes augers (gears), and baskets. The key difference between bad and good juicers can be so simple as the dimensions of its rubber feet.

Instead of presenting hundreds of choices here, I have handpicked 3 of the best juice machines – each in their own class. All 3 pass the quality and design tests in their respective category.

Versatility – The Samson Advanced

This amazing juicer has brought juicing fruits and veggies to a new level. The versatility of the Samson is a result of its unique, single auger (single gear), masticating design that can juice anything, including herbs, wheatgrass and leafy greens. Also, you can make applesauce, sorbets, baby food, and nut butters. With the additional Oil Extractor, this juicer can produce fresh made oils from hemp, flax, sesame and other seeds. For $260, it stand apart from competitors. Samson is so centered on quality that they put their money where their mouth is with a fifteen year warranty. If you are a serious juicer, this machine produces the highest quality juices with minimum oxidative damage.

Usability – The Omega Big Mouth BMJ330

This juice machine is about ease of use and sheer speed; costing less than $200, yet still offers a ten-year warranty. This length of warranty is unheard of for centrifugal style juice machines. The best juice machine is the one you will use often, and even though I am a serious juicer, I still find myself using this fast machine often. Why? It has an extra wide 3″ feed tube that makes things easier. You can fit a various fruits and veggies in their whole, including carrots, apples and chunky cucumbers. You can turn a bunch of fruits and veggies into several glasses of juice and have it cleaned and ready for next time in fifteen minutes. Incredible! It can juice leafy green, just not as effectively as the Samson. However it cannot juice wheatgrass, which is too thin for this machine.

Affordability – CitriStar Citrus Juicer

The CitrusStar Juicer by Tribest has stood out as one of the best quality juice machines for juicing citrus. The second you get this juicer running for the first time, you will be amazed by its solid construction. Its potent 85 watts motor, sloped juice collector, and cleaning ream ensures the highest juice yields without a clogging issues. A feature that I love is its locking spout, a nice touch that eliminates dripping. Once finished making a juice, simply lock the spout back in place, wait a couple of minutes, and drain off the final drops of juice.

My Juicer: Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain

The juicer that I currently use (BTW it’s the same as filmed in the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary) is Breville Juice Fountain JE98XL which you can find on Amazon or in any store that carries kitchen appliances. If you’re on the market for a juicer, it's a good juicer to consider.
