2 Beetroot Juice Recipes For Healthy Blood Pressure

Not only are raw beets a beautiful color, but they are also packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

There is definitely a rather distinct “earthy” taste to beet juice, so it’s best to juice beets with other fruits and veggies.

The greens can be juiced too to add an even greater health dimension.

Beetroot Juice Benefits

Studies have demonstrated that beet juice (also referred to as beetroot juice) is one of the richest sources of antioxidants and nitrates that may improve blood pressure and blood flow throughout the body, including the brain, heart, muscles, and more.

Drinking a glass of beetroot juice every day could help prevent high blood pressure, scientists say.

According to researchers from the University of Reading found that even small doses of beet juice lower blood pressure. They found consuming just 100g caused a significant lowering of blood pressure in the short-term (0 to 4 hours) and longer term (0 to 13 hours).

  • Just 100g of beetroot found to have a significant physical effect that lasted at least 13 hours
  • The effect is attributed to nitrate content in vegetable that improves blood flow

Beet juice is also known as a blood purifier and blood builder that helps in the creation of red blood cells. It improves blood structure and has beneficial effect the health of the liver, kidneys, and bladder, circulatory system, and large intestine.

Beet Juice Recipes

Drinking the fresh juice of a beet or two each day is a great preventative health measure, and it may help reverse many problems. Beetroots are hard vegetables, and will juice easily in all types of juicers.

Beetroot juice is very potent, and it’s recommended that when you drink the raw juice mix it with other milder juices such as apple, carrot, cucumber, or celery.

Beet-Apple-Carrot-Celery Juice

•1-2 beetroot (the small ones are sweeter!)
•1 apple
•2 large carrots
•1 stalk of celery
•1 small piece of ginger (optional)

Beet-Pineapple Juice

•1 beet root
•1/2 pineapple
•1 large cucumber

Run thru a juicer all the ingredients. Serve in a tall glass cup to enjoy the gorgeous purple color!
