Breville Juicer: My Review of Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor

If you are serious about your health (and you should be!), if you want to take charge of your life – GET YOURSELF A JUICER!  And one of the top juicer brands that I would recommend is the Breville juicer.

The vitamins and minerals from fresh, raw vegetables and fruits are really the ONLY thing that will give you the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in their natural, easy-to-absorb state that your body needs to stay healthy.

Making fresh juices with juice extractor allows you to consume a LARGER QUANTITY of raw fruits and veggies that would otherwise take too long to eat because of the fiber.

BUT WE NEED THE FIBER, RIGHT? – Sure we do, although it’s not a nutrient that is absorbed by the body. Since our body CANNOT digest fiber, it will extract the nutrients from fruits and vegetables and dispose of the fiber. With juicing, the only difference is that it does it BEFORE you consume it.

Juice Extractor Review: Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor

It is not necessary to spend a lot of money on a juicer. Any juicing machine will do as any juice you make is better than no juice.

However, if you plan to purchase a new electric juicer, you might as well get Breville 800JEXL.

Breville Juicer

Breville Juicer

Reviewers agree that Breville Juice Fountain Elite is the top juicer in its price range. It is reasonably priced and many people find this juicer to be one of the world’s GREATEST juice machines on the market. Its three-inch chute means that many fruits can be juiced whole, saving time and effort.

Here are some pros and cons of this juicer:

Breville Juice Extractor Pros

THE DESIGN: Designed to commercial standards, the Breville 800JEXL is one of the sleekest and coolest looking kitchen appliances (just look at this baby on the picture below). Beautifully designed stainless die cast steel housing and motor body makes this juice extractor a work of art. If you have a modern kitchen with the stainless steel appliances, this juice machine will look awesome sitting on your counter. Well, it will look awesome on any kitchen counter, really.

EASY TO ASSEMBLE: The Breville juice fountain 800jexl is easy to put together. There are only 3 pieces: a stainless steel base that fits over the motor first, then the screen/blade, the top, and the pulp catcher. That’s it!

FAST & POWERFUL: It has two speeds for soft and hard fruits and a three inch feed tube which minimizes preparation and feeding time. It provides the speed and power to handle any juicing job that you may have. Even the hard fruits and vegetables – beets, pineapples, carrots – will not slow it down. Never makes a grinding noise like it’s trying too hard. NO. This juicer just zips right through everything.
NO CHOPPING: Extra large stainless feed chute allows you to insert whole fruits and vegetables, cutting operating time considerably. Almost all vegetables and fruits will fit into its opening, even small apples can go straight in (larger apples you will have to cut into quarters). This will save you time and require less cleanup.

SUPER EFFICIENT AND FANTASTIC QUALITY JUICE: The quality and quantity of juice is just great! The pulp is very dry, which means it is extracting the nutrients out, and it does make fantastic green juice. You can juice spinach, watercress, kale, even wheat grass – without any problem.

EASY TO CLEAN: When you’re done, the unit cleans up effortlessly. You can just take out the few pieces put them in your dish washer and that’s it! Or just rinse them in the sink with a little soap and water. But be sure to wash the juicer immediately after you juice, so it doesn’t get dry.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT: The company is excellent in taking care of their customers.

Breville Juicer Cons

LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD: The biggest concern with this juicer may be the limited warranty period (1-3 years), which is rather short compared to other juicing machines in its class.

  1. Jane May @ Juicer Machines

I bought this model for my husband about 6 months ago. He is now a juicing whizz and makes lots of juice every day. He prefers vegetable juice and likes what most people may consider to be rather unusual mixes, such as celery, crapple, beetroot, ginger or crapple, lime, spinach, parsnip … these are actually very tasty! We absolutely love our Breville 800 and thoroughly endorse your review. Its a great juicer and so fast. Our only problem is needing a bigger fridge for all those lovely fruit and veg supplies!

Most experts agree that for maximum health you should get 5- 9 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday. This juicer makes getting those servings much easier.

  3. Elizabeth @ buy juicer

I have heard good things about this juicer. I have a vita mix and I love it but I am looking for something that will juice wheatgrass. The other juicer I have is old and is a pain to clean, so I am looking for something that is easy to clean and will juice wheatgrass. I appreciate your information.

Very nice review. I’m thinking of buying this guys little brother, the BJE510XL. Its lower wattage, and lighter duty, but I’m sure it will be sufficient for a start. I’d like to go for the all brushed chrome look as it would fit nice with my coffee grinder, but have to take it easy and save some money for fruits and vegetables!

  5. table top fridge

I have seen a Breville Juicer, it has a very nice design and looks visually appealing. People will be amazed when seeing it in front of their eyes. I totally agree with the comment that it can add to the appearance of a kitchen.

  6. Monica Juicer

This is a nice review. I really think that Breville Juicer really has a good specifications and very worth it to buy. It is easy to clean and operate which means that it saves more of your time when using it. Another thing that I like about it is that the quantity and quality of the juices made from this is really good.

No, no, no — do NOT crush ice with your juicer. You will just dull and ruin the blades. Make juice and then blend with ice in a blender if you want a smoothie. The blades (and grating mechanism) are designed to extract juice. The ice would not even make it through the spinning disc (at least in this particular juicer, which I have)….

  8. Top 10 Juicers

Today we had pineapple, watermelon and mint. A simple and refreshing juice, lovely to sip slowly as I pottered in the kitchen getting school lunch ready. The kids enjoyed this one too.

  9. Jermaine

I have another Breville juicer review at my blog. Check to see what fits your needs. If you don’t need such a high watt juicer, then check my review and see if it fits your needs. Comapre the products to see what is the best fitting to your needs so that you can get the maximum for your dollar. A comparison is always needed when thinking of buying household appliances, as one and the other is not always the same.

  10. Top 10 Juicers

I a big fan of slow juicers like Hurom. The Hurom Slow Juicer is a juice extractor that uses the patented Low Speed Technology System (LSTS). It is called a “Slow Juicer” because it operates at only 80 RPM and uses a mere 150 Watts of energy, instead of 1,000-24,000 RPM and up to 1,500 Watts of energy like a typical centrifugal “High Speed” juicer.

  11. Juicing Machines

Nice post Joanna. Breville is at the top of their game when it comes to centrifugal juicers. Stop by and check out my blog sometime. I’ve just recently posted some free recipes.

  12. Mikky

I use the juicer daily and it is fantastic. The only thing I wish it could do is clean itself, however, cleaning is less than a 5 minute process.

this article is full of medical misnomers. the truth is that the body does require fibre not for digestion but to chelate cholesterol through the absorption of soluble fibres such as found in apples. the soluble fibre forms a bond with cholesterol and decreases levels, so it is very poor judgement in saying that fibre is not needed. secondly the non-absorbable forms of fibre promote gastro-intestinal whole bowel movements ( which then help reduce the risk of colon cancer) and i hope you know that colon cancer is the second most common cancer killer among men and women. so before you make such absolutely uneducated comments do a little research or better yet contact one of us, your family physicians who are here to serve the public in a health conscience manner.

  14. KZumbach

I have the juice fountain elite and I have been really enjoying it. It juices everything exceptionally except for green leafy vegetables like kale. It only seems to chop them and blow them into the basket. Everything else is completely pulverized except the kale. I’ve tried high and low with the same result. It seems like a waste of a vegetable to me.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

  15. Kat

Great post! Juicers can really pump in that nutrients we need and wash away toxins in the body. You can be sure that the juice coming out of your juicer is fresh and nutritious.

My Juicer: Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain

The juicer that I currently use (BTW it’s the same as filmed in the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary) is Breville Juice Fountain JE98XL which you can find on Amazon or in any store that carries kitchen appliances. If you’re on the market for a juicer, it's a good juicer to consider.
