<p>However, even if you do believe that there must me at least some connection into what goes into your body, has strong influence on the largest organ of your body – your skin, the information and advice that is out there is confusing and often conflicting.</p>
<p>Eat healthy – easier said than done, right?!</p>
<p>And what does it mean, anyway?</p>
<p>It’s truly simple.</p>
<p>Natural, unprocessed, plant-based diet is best for both your skin and the rest of your body.</p>

<p><span class="drop_cap">Juicing is a great habit to acquire. Raw, live, fresh fruit and vegetables have so many beneficial effects on the body. </span></p>
<p><span class="drop_cap">Ideally, w</span>e should all drink at least one glass of freshly pressed juice every day.</p>
<p>There are so many <strong>health benefits to drinking fresh juice </strong>it would be impossible to list them all.  </p>
<p>The top three main reasons why juicing is so beneficial, in my opinion, are:</p>
<p><strong>(1) Highly concentrated nutrition. </strong></p>
<p>When you juice, you use more fruits and vegetables than you could actually eat.  So, when you drink the juice form of the fruit and vegetables you are receiving highly concentrated nutrition, which means the amount it would normally take to fill you up wouldn&#8217;t have anywhere near as much goodness.</p>
<p>As a result, you are drinking a densely packed amount of vitamins, minerals and other plant-based nutrients.</p>
<p><strong>(2) Easy absorption</strong></p>
<p>The juice requires hardly any digestion, so all its nutritional goodness gets quickly into your system without your body needing to do any work.</p>
<p><strong>(3) Liver detoxification</strong></p>
<p>One the critical functions of the liver is to clean the blood and remove toxins and metabolic waste.  With the amount of toxins we are dealing with everyday in modern life we need to be real diligent in helping to keep it “clean” so it can keep us clean!</p>
<p>Specific nutrients are required to allow the liver do its cleansing job. Antioxidants beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, and N-acetyl cysteine are potent liver cleansers. In addition, B-vitamins riboflavin and niacin also aid liver cleansing.  Cabbage, brussel sprouts and cauliflower have been found to be great for the liver.</p>
<p>Many people like drinking fruit and vegetable juice to detoxify their bodies for a few days every month or a day or two a week: This means they have nothing but fresh juices, fruit, fresh vegetables and water for the detoxification period.</p>
<p>Since the enzymes in the fruit and vegetables are still buzzing in their uncooked form, fresh juice is pure energy to support our natural life force.</p>

<p><strong>(6) Helping with healthy skin, hair, nails and eyes</strong></p>

<p>Benefits of juice that is freshly made far outweigh those offered by bottled juice, and are well worth the time and effort that is required.</p>
<p>A fresh juice is made using a juicing machine called an extractor or simply a juicer. A juicer is a blender-like processor that removes the pulp and filters about 90% of the liquid matter into a cup or jug.</p>
<p>The fact is almost all fruits and vegetables can be juiced. Fruits and vegetables that are most commonly used for fresh juice include: apples, oranges, lemons, watermelons, grapes, carrots, beets, cabbage, spinach and other greens. Many people also like to include a small amount of fresh ginger or garlic for more spicy taste and an immune system boost.</p>

Some juicers will take a whole granny smith apple without requiring any coring, where others need fruit and vegetables to be chopped into smaller pieces so they can fit through.<br />

<p>Benefits of juicing cannot be denied.  </p>
<p>Preparing freshly made juices from fruits, veggies and greens is without question a fantastic way to enrich your diet with super-important nutrients that can be absorbed quickly and easily by your body.</p>
<h4>However, juicing may or may not be the ideal solution you for at least three reasons.</h4>
<h2>Why juicing may not be an ideal way To add more fruits and veggies to your diet</h2>
<p><strong>(1.) Juice is very concentrated.</strong></p>
<p>* Problem number one with juice is that it’s too concentrated.</p>
<p>* If you add a lot of sweet fruit (such as apricots, mangoes, pears, etc.) and sweet vegetables (such as carrots), the juice will contain lots of sugar. This can be an issue for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes or candida.</p>
<p>* If you’re making green juices from greens such as parsley, kale, etc. – even though they are super healthy &#8211; you need to be aware consuming large amounts of them on a regular basis can be mildly toxic and cause some unpleasant side-effects.</p>
<p>So, while drinking a reasonable quantity of vegetable juice every day, such as 8 or 10 ounces is OK, if you go beyond this amount, you may not be doing your body such a huge favor as you may be lead to believe.  <strong>In case of juicing, more is not always better. </strong><br />

<p><strong>(2.) Juice contains no fiber. </strong></p>
<p>Problem number two with juicing is that you in the process of extracting the fluids you leave discard some very valuable parts of the produce, namely the <strong>dietary fiber</strong>.  </p>
<p>This can be viewed as a benefit in some situations, because if there is no fiber this means the body doesn&#8217;t need to do any work digesting the juice, so all the important nutrients are absorbed instantly.</p>
<p>However, the fact is that your body NEEDS fiber for proper digestion and elimination. So, if you are not getting your fiber from the rest of your diet, you are not doing your body a big favor.</p>
<p>Even though fiber is not used by our bodies for nutrition, it plays a vital role in the process of digestion, as it slows down the absorption of nutrients, helps to clean the digestive tracts of toxins and unwanted matter, and <strong>improves bowel movement</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>(3.) Juice doesn&#8217;t satisfy hunger as well as other foods</strong> </p>
<p>Fiber also creates the feeling of fullness that satisfies our hunger.</p>
<p>While drinking a a glass of fresh juice is a <em>tasty appetizer</em>, it is not a <em>satisfying meal</em> by itself.</p>
<p>Some people solve this problem by reusing the pulp for baking and other cooking recipes, but most of us just discards these valuable parts of the plants, which is &#8211; in my opinion &#8211; quite wasteful, not to mention expensive, especially if you buy organic.</p>
<p>(4) Juicing is often time consuming and messy</p>
<p>Depending on which type of <a href="http://www.bestjuicerrecipes.com/">juicer</a> you own and how much time during the day you have, this may or may not be an issue for you, but I think this is a problem for a lot of people, including myself.</p>
<p>So, what&#8217;s the alternative?</p>
<h2>Alternative to Juicing: How to Add More Fruits and Vegetables to Your Diet Easily</h2>
<p>While I&#8217;m certainly not telling you to stop juicing, the fact is you can easily eliminate all three problems by <strong>preparing and drinking blended drinks or smoothies.</strong></p>
<p>Making smoothies is a super easy way to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and greens, and a great alternative to juicing.</p>
<p>It is usually much faster, less messy, and easier to clean up. Plus, you also get to consume all the fiber, that is so beneficial to your health and digestive tract, and leaves you feeling less hungry.</p>
<p>While it&#8217;s impossible to live just on juices for extended periods of time (unless you are on some kind of <a title="Juice Fasting" href="http://www.bestjuicerrecipes.com/juice-fasting-for-detoxification-what-to-expect-when-you-start-a-juice-detox/">juice fasting</a> regimen), living on green smoothies is easy and does not require much sacrifice.</p>

<p>Juice is sensitive to air, so it should be kept in an airtight glass container and filled right up to the top to make sure that there is the least amount of air inside the container as possible. Keep the container away from light by wrapping it in aluminum foil and storing it in the refrigerator.</p>
<p>Fruit and vegetable juices should be consumed at room temperature. If they have been stored in the refrigerator, remove them at least half an hour before consuming. Never drink juice that is over 24 hours old, as all of the nutritional value and main benefits of juicing will have been lost.</p>

<p><span class="drop_cap">W</span>e all know that vitamins are essential for our normal health and development. They are vital to life and everybody needs them. It’s also no secret that vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements are part of a very lucrative, billion dollar industry. In fact, it is reported by some sources that Americans spend almost $2 billion on various vitamin and mineral supplements annually.</p>
<p>We keep hearing compelling arguments trying to convince us to take vitamins, minerals and other supplements:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Vitamins, supplements, herbs and other natural remedies can cure you as well as or better than many prescription drugs&#8230;without the negative side effects.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;If everyone took a few supplements every day, they could significantly lower their risk of a multitude of serious diseases.&#8221; </em></p>
<h2>However does that mean we have to run to the nearest Vitamin Shoppe or order them online from Vitamins Direct or some other cheap vitamins supplier?</h2>
<p>Whenever you feel an urge to buy the latest and greatest multi vitamin supplement, consider this:</p>
<p><strong>- How do you know which vitamins to take? </strong>How can you be sure you are selecting the right nutritional supplements to take? Having the proper balance of vitamins and minerals is essential for health. Excess of isolated vitamins or minerals can have similar symptoms as vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Vitamins and minerals can work in synergy or can block the absorbtion or effect of each other. Supplement manufacturers spend millions trying to persuade us that their products are the best on the market. What can you believe and to whom can you go to for advice? Your doctor? Most medical schools do not provide sufficient education in nutrition.</p>
<p><strong>- How do you know how much to take?</strong> In large doses, some vitamins have documented side effects that tend to be more severe with a larger dosage. The likelihood of consuming too much of any vitamin from food is remote, but overdosing from vitamin supplementation does occur. At high enough dosages some vitamins cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.</p>
<p>When side effects emerge, recovery is often accomplished by reducing the dosage. The concentrations of vitamins an individual can tolerate vary widely, and appear to be related to age and state of health. In the United States, overdose exposure to all formulations of vitamins was reported by 62,562 individuals in 2004 (nearly 80% of these exposures were in children under the age of 6), leading to 53 &#8220;major&#8221; life-threatening outcomes and 3 deaths;a small number in comparison to the 19,250 people who died of unintentional poisoning of all kinds in the U.S. in the same year (2004). <p>Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are told to use extreme caution when adding supplements to your diet for a reason.</p>
<p><strong>- Buyer Beware.</strong> In choosing nutritional supplements it is truly a caveat emptor—and let the buyer beware. Remember that vitamins, minerals and other supplements aren&#8217;t regulated in the same way as prescription drugs. You need to read the ingredients listed as being contained in any product and investigate possible benefits as well as potential side effects than can occur.  Because of the lack of regulations in the vitamin industry and there are many unscrupulous sellers that may try to get your money.</p>
<p><strong>- How do you know which brand to trust?</strong> Some vitamins and supplements can be hazardous to your health.  Many vitamins, including some of the highly advertised name brands, are processed at high temperatures, contain petroleum derived chemical solvents, such as ethyl cellulose and are coated with methylene chloride, a carcinogenic material. Even though the majority of people will have no serious side effects from ingesting small amounts of toxins found in some vitamin supplements, the long term consequences of continuous, daily intakes are potentially dangerous, and a small percentage people of displays sensitivity to these chemicals. Allergic reactions may include fatigue, memory loss, depression and insomnia.</p>
<p><strong>- How natural are &#8220;natural&#8221; vitamins and supplements?</strong> Some of the &#8220;natural&#8221; vitamins are also produced under less than optimal conditions. The potency, dosage &#8211; and sometimes even the ingredients &#8211; are often difficult to determine from the label. Natural does not always mean a seal of approval.</p>
<h2>How to get the optimal nutrition with all the Vitamins and Minerals that your body needs?</h2>
<p>We are often been told that we can get all the vitamins and minerals we need if we eat a normal &#8220;balanced&#8221; diet. The problem is that 90% of adults don&#8217;t consume the recommended daily servings of fruit and vegetables (which are pathetically low, by the way). For example in a study done in U. S. Department of Agriculture of 50,000 persons, not one person was getting the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of the 10 essential vitamins. And in many cases even the RDA is insufficient for optimum health.</p>
<p><strong>The logical conclusions seems to recommend that all of us take our daily vitamin and mineral supplements, right?</strong></p>
<p><strong>WRONG!!!</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s true, our bodies do need vitamins and minerals for optimum health. It&#8217;s also true that most of us do not consume enough vegetables and fruits to supply the needed amount.</p>
