A Few Precautions When Using Ninja Kitchen System 1100

Ninja kitchen system 1100 is a great set of kitchen tools for preparing appetizing recipes. Thanks to its sharp blades which are mainly designed to do the job speedily and perfectly.

However, this sharpness needs special handling to prevent possible accidents. So, what are the main precaution steps that should be followed? The following guest post outlines some of the precautions that you should take when using these kitchen tools.

Ninja Kitchen System 1100

Ninja Kitchen System 1100

Using Ninja kitchen System 1100 requires taking some precautions to get the desired results especially when dealing with ice. Don’t just add cold liquids to the crushed ice because it makes the ice stiffer. Even the as seen on tv ninja sharp blades will fail to remove it and guess how your recipe would be with this block of ice! That is why crushing ice and adding the liquid should be done at the same time.

Also, it is better to add enough liquid to the crushed ice to prevent freezing. As a matter of fact, adding hot drinks to the ice will give an amazing tasteful result. In addition, it is much more tasteful to add frozen fruits instead of ice to enjoy the flavor of natural vitamins as well as to reduce the hotness of the summer times. Thus, you will be energetic and full of fresh sensations.

In fact, there is another important notion which should be taken in consideration concerning the ninja blades. True their incredible sharpness helps to get perfect results in short times, however, this typical sharpness can turn into a harmful threat for you if you do not pay attention while handling them. Remember to keep them away of your children and make sure to lock them in the containers when you don’t need them to save your hands or fingers from sudden injuries. That way, you will only get satisfaction by purchasing and using Ninja Kitchen System 1100.

If you take the above suggestions in consideration, you will never be hurt by the ninja system. And as it is said prevention is better than cure. So make sure to use this system without mentioned dangers.

Finally! Healthy Nutrition Made Easy: Learn How to Prepare Delicious Green Smoothies That Your Family Will Love!

Drinking juices freshly extracted from fruits, veggies and greens is a fantastic way to add important nutrients from fruits and vegetables to your diet; nutrients that can be assimilated quickly and easily by your body.

However, as I mentioned in my post about Benefits of Juicing Vs Blending (the post that discusses some disadvantages of juicing – which you may find it’s odd on the juicing site, but it’s my honest opinion), juicing may or may not be the ideal solution for you for several reasons.

1. For some people the problem is that juice is too concentrated. If you juice a lot of sweet fruit (such as apricots, mangoes, pears, etc.) and sweet vegetables (such as carrots), the resulting drink will contain lots of sugar. This can be an issue for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes or candida. On the other hand, if making green juices from greens such as parsley, kale, etc. – even though they are super healthy – you need to be aware consuming large amounts of them on a regular basis can be mildly toxic and cause some unpleasant side-effects. So, in case of juicing for health, more is not necessarily better.

2. In the process of extracting the fluids you get rid of some very valuable parts of the produce, namely the fiber. Fiber plays a very important role in the process of digestion, as it slows down the absorption of nutrients, helps to clean the digestive tracts of toxins, and improves bowel movement. And although drinking a glass of fresh juice is a tasty appetizer, it is not a satisfying meal by itself.

3. Juicing can be time consuming and messy. Depending on which type of juicer you own and how much time during the day you have, this may or may not be an issue for you, but I think this is a problem for a lot of people, including myself.

So, what’s the good alternative to making your own juice?

Smoothies.

Smoothie Recipes

Smoothie Recipes

You can easily eliminate all three problems with green smoothies.

1. You can make smoothies from a mixture of fruits and greens, or prepare vegetable smoothies, that are not very sweet or concentrated at all – because they contain all the fiber that is in the produce.

2. You get to keep the fiber, which makes drinking smoothies more satisfying, as the fiber gives you the feeling of fullness.

3. Making smoothies takes less time, especially during cleanup.

So, if you are looking to incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens(!) into your diet, then making smoothies is a super easy way to do it, and a great alternative to juicing. It is much faster, less messy, and you also get fiber in addition to juice, so you get that feeling of satiety.

Plus, smoothies are really delicious, too!

Smoothie Recipes: Making Green Smoothies

While making smoothies is not a revolutionary idea, many people still haven’t thought or heard about green smoothies or vegetable smoothies that are truly delicious and are made solely from fresh, raw produce (without any milk, soy milk, or similar ingredients).

The idea to blend various kinds of leafy greens, fruits and vegetables to create a liquid soup with a baby food consistency is not new. About 5 years ago that Victoria Boutenko (from the Raw Family) greatly popularized the concept of the Green Smoothie.

The green smoothie is essentially a blended drink made with fruits and leafy greens, with some optional water, blended at high speeds to smooth consistency.

Great Ingredients For Your Green Smoothie Recipes

GREENS: any kind of greens will do, either from the store, from your garden or even backyard, including kale, dandelion, kale, collard greens, beet tops, bok choy, chard, spinach, parsley, lettuce, arugula (love it!), mint, basil, cilantro (excellent!), or other. Young, tender greens are better. Iceberg lettuce, although not very green at all, can be used too.

FRUITS: any type of fresh fruit is great, make sure it is ripe: bananas, pears, apples, mango, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, kiwi, pineapple, melon, papaya, watermelon, grapes, or other. Frozen fruits work great too.

VEGGIES: cucumber, celery, avocado .

Some fruit and green combinations you may want to try:

  • Bananas, strawberries, spinach
  • Apples, bananas, and some lemon or lime juice, spinach
  • Parsley, celery, spinach apple and/or pears
  • Spinach, bananas, peaches, mango
  • Kale, bananas, mixed berries (I buy frozen mixed berries at BJ’s – they are excellent!)
  • Spinach and celery with blueberries
  • Parsley and ripe pears

Add 1-2 cups of water and blend until smooth. Adjust proportions to your liking. Try to experiment with different greens and fruits. Fruits are added for sweetness, so make sure they are really RIPE, especially bananas. Beautifully ripened bananas look like this:

Okay, so I need to add more spinach here, but I really love sweet taste of bananas!

Smoothie Recipes Tips

1. Initially, if you are not used to consuming lots of greens, I recommend that you start with spinach as the main green ingredient, because of its mild taste. Experiment with stronger tasting greens – such as arugula, parsley or cilantro – by adding only small amounts.

2. You can use any blender as your smoothie maker machine, but if you are planning on preparing lots of green smoothies with tough greens and veggies, such as kale or celery, I recommend that you should splurge on a Vitamix or Blendtech blender. Although quite more expensive than regular blenders, they are truly super-machines, that make great, super-smooth smoothies, plus they can be used as food processor to make other recipes too.

3. At first, you may feel uncomfortable adding greens to your smoothies, and you may be discouraged by a strange color of the resulting concoction – but trust me – you’ll love it!

So, this is what a green smoothie looks like:

Don’t be discouraged by its “greenness” – it tastes delicious, trust me on this!

Just try it for yourself, OK?

And kids love it too – my son drinks at least two large portions of green smoothies every single day!

Green Smoothie Recipes

Here are more ideas for your delicious green smoothie creations. Feel free to adjust the quantity of ingredients:

•1 head of spinach
•1 apple
•1 banana
•1-2 cups of water

•1/2 head of spinach
•1/4 cup of raspberries
•2 cups of water
•1/2 cup of strawberries

•1 small pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped
•1 large mango, peeled, cored, and chopped
•½ head romaine lettuce
•a tiny piece of fresh ginger
You may want to add some water.

•2 leaves kale (kale is rather strong tasting, so you may want to start with less)
•2 bananas
•1 cup of strawberries or blueberries or raspberries
•1 cup of water

•5 pieces of green leaf lettuce
•1 ripe mango
•1 apple
•1 cup of water

Now that you know how to make basic smoothie recipes, you can experiment with other variations on this theme.

Benefits of Juicing Vs Blending: Why Juicing May Not Be an Ideal Way To Add More Fruits & Veggies to Your Diet

Benefits of juicing cannot be denied.

Preparing freshly made juices from fruits, veggies and greens is without question a fantastic way to enrich your diet with super-important nutrients that can be absorbed quickly and easily by your body.

However, juicing may or may not be the ideal solution you for at least three reasons.

Why juicing may not be an ideal way To add more fruits and veggies to your diet

(1.) Juice is very concentrated.

* Problem number one with juice is that it’s too concentrated.

* If you add a lot of sweet fruit (such as apricots, mangoes, pears, etc.) and sweet vegetables (such as carrots), the juice will contain lots of sugar. This can be an issue for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes or candida.

* If you’re making green juices from greens such as parsley, kale, etc. – even though they are super healthy – you need to be aware consuming large amounts of them on a regular basis can be mildly toxic and cause some unpleasant side-effects.

So, while drinking a reasonable quantity of vegetable juice every day, such as 8 or 10 ounces is OK, if you go beyond this amount, you may not be doing your body such a huge favor as you may be lead to believe. In case of juicing, more is not always better.
A Glass of Juice

(2.) Juice contains no fiber.

Problem number two with juicing is that you in the process of extracting the fluids you leave discard some very valuable parts of the produce, namely the dietary fiber.

This can be viewed as a benefit in some situations, because if there is no fiber this means the body doesn’t need to do any work digesting the juice, so all the important nutrients are absorbed instantly.

However, the fact is that your body NEEDS fiber for proper digestion and elimination. So, if you are not getting your fiber from the rest of your diet, you are not doing your body a big favor.

Even though fiber is not used by our bodies for nutrition, it plays a vital role in the process of digestion, as it slows down the absorption of nutrients, helps to clean the digestive tracts of toxins and unwanted matter, and improves bowel movement.

(3.) Juice doesn’t satisfy hunger as well as other foods

Fiber also creates the feeling of fullness that satisfies our hunger.

While drinking a a glass of fresh juice is a tasty appetizer, it is not a satisfying meal by itself.

Some people solve this problem by reusing the pulp for baking and other cooking recipes, but most of us just discards these valuable parts of the plants, which is – in my opinion – quite wasteful, not to mention expensive, especially if you buy organic.

(4) Juicing is often time consuming and messy

Depending on which type of juicer you own and how much time during the day you have, this may or may not be an issue for you, but I think this is a problem for a lot of people, including myself.

So, what’s the alternative?

Alternative to Juicing: How to Add More Fruits and Vegetables to Your Diet Easily

While I’m certainly not telling you to stop juicing, the fact is you can easily eliminate all three problems by preparing and drinking blended drinks or smoothies.

Making smoothies is a super easy way to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and greens, and a great alternative to juicing.

It is usually much faster, less messy, and easier to clean up. Plus, you also get to consume all the fiber, that is so beneficial to your health and digestive tract, and leaves you feeling less hungry.

While it’s impossible to live just on juices for extended periods of time (unless you are on some kind of juice fasting regimen), living on green smoothies is easy and does not require much sacrifice.

Preparing delicious smoothie recipes - and green smoothies in particular – is the quickest, easiest way to obtain incredible health results.

Just like with juicing, simply by adding one Green Smoothie to your diet every day will start to bring about amazing positive change in the body. Your body will get all the nutrition that it needs, providing you with amazing energy.

Green smoothies are fast and extremely easy to make. No matter what your schedule is, you can manage making a green smoothie.

From start to finish, it takes less than 5 minutes, and that includes cleaning up!

How is the VitaMix 5200 different from the Vitamix 4500? I have been researching different models of Vitamix, trying to decide which one to get. It carries a 5 year warranty. —VitaMix 5200– is a food processor with 1 wet blade, variable speed and 7 year warranty. —VitaMix Super 5200— This is the top of the line model, a powerful food processor with variable speed (for up to 35 food tasks), one wet blade, one dry blade, and 7 year warranty. Juicer Recipes: How to Make Juice Without a Juicer Using a Blender?

Here is an unconventional way to prepare juice – juicing without the juicer, or…

Juicing with a blender!

I just recently received my new Vita-mix (for my birthday – I will not say how old I am, but I sure hope that Vitamix – and the delicious, natural foods that I will prepare with it  – will help me look younger longer), and I decided to test it to prepare some juice. Juicing with a blender is certainly a good option that you can use if you don’t have a juicer – or even if you have one. Here are some instructions for you and a video. But first – before anybody asks, let’s briefly explain the difference between a juicer and a blender.

What is the difference between a juicer and a blender?

A juicer separates the liquid from the fiber. A blender is designed to liquefy food by chopping it up at high speeds. It doesn’t separate the juice from the pulp, so the result is a mushy liquid, that in some cases may not taste very good. A blender can be quite useful in tandem with a juicer. For example, bananas contain little juice, so juicing them would be hard, but they taste delicious when blended with many juices, for example pineapple juice, or green vegetable juice.

Making Juice With Vitamix Blender

Yes, you can make JUICE with your BLENDER! And although any blender might do the job, probably the best blender for making juices is Vitamix. That is because Vita Mix is a truly powerful blender that blends the fruits and veggies into super-tiny pieces. The Vita-Mix’s blades pulverize the skins, seeds and peels of whole foods to make them easily digestible. * Just put your fruits and vegetables in the blender, add a little bit of water (this is optional, but will make the blending faster) and turn it on. * Once the ingredients have been blended into a puree, you can drink it as is, or strain the puree with a cheese cloth or a cotton bag to separate the juice from the pulp. * The cleanup is much faster than with traditional juicer. * What is amazing, you may get more juice and less pulp than when using traditional juicer.
