Cabbage is one of my favorite ingredients to juice, because of it’s health benefits, and the fact that I don’t eat it enough on a daily basis.
Due to it’s sulphur content, cabbage juice on it’s own may not be your “cup of juice“, but with the addition of apples and carrots, it’s simply delicious.
Ginger adds some extra punch to the drink, as well as helps to calm upset stomachs (has long been a remedy for heartburn). (Read more about health benefits of ginger here.)
Cool Slaw: Cabbage-Broccoli Juice Recipe
1 crown of broccoli
½ small red cabbage (or, if you don’t have red, use green)
1 lemon (whole, if organic, or peeled)
1 green apple
Ginger to taste
Peel ginger root and juice all ingredients together. Pour, sip and smile!
Optionally, you may serve it with a few ice-cubes.
My juicer: Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain
The juicer I’m using is Breville Juice Fountain, which you can find on Amazon or in any store that carries kitchen appliances. (It is also the same juicer that Joe Cross was using in the “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” documentary.)
