Everyone has there own favorite tastes and go-to vegetables when juicing. While I’ve been known to create very different combinations of vegetables and fruits in my juices, here are some of my more normal and favorite juices to have.
For a hearty green juice, the only ingredients you will need is:
- 1 cucumber
- 1 green apple
- 1 fresh lemon
- 5 stalks kale (or spinach works well too!)
- Ginger knob
When it comes to the lemon, parsley and celery: add as much or as little as you would like. I generally add 1 large handful of parsley and 4 or 5 stalks of celery, and then squeeze lemon in as I drink based on how my taste buds are that day. On the flip side, my roommates skip the parsley and add more celery and lemon juice.
It is a very good idea to juice the kale (or spinach) first so the other juices will naturally mix in with it while you are juicing. If you juice it last then its juices usually just sit on top and create a bitter taste that is hard to combine with the other tastes.

If you enjoy more of a sweet taste, feel free to add additional apple. Apple juice is a natural sweetener and is potent enough to knock out some of the bitterness of the kale. Likewise, if you enjoy drinks that have a little bit of a kick, try adding about an inch knob of ginger.
While this juice tastes delicious, be weary of inhaling through your nose while drinking. The smell is predominantly kale or spinach, while the taste is apple and lemon, which throws off your body and may gross you out if you are smelling and drinking the different ingredients.
