This makes 5 1/2 cups of sweet juice, so be ready with a second jug to hold that volume. If you like it sweet, this works. I prefer the cooked & salty V8 flavor, so it's back to the kitchen for me.

This recipe is identical to the one in the Champion Juicer manual. Haven't tried it yet but hope to. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the recipe to get it to taste like a commercial product. Also, just because I'm a picky English major, you would say that people shun something, not "shun away" something.

This recipe is title "raw V8 juice". Because it's raw, and real V8 is cooked with some other added stuff, it doesn't taste the same. But of course, it's healthier if you use raw ingredients. Optionally you can substitute half or all of your tomatoes with either stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce for pasta.

I made this juice almost exactly but!! I keep having problems with the tomatoes! They make the juice mealy and sweet. I want the full flavor that I get from actual V8 but, can't get it right. Could it be the kind of tomato I'm using? V8 tastws like cooked tomatoes, not fresh ones.....am I imagining this?

I was hoping this juice would be close to V8 but unfortunately it was very sweet and ultimately fell short of my expectations, it was still good but not the right fit for me.

Thanks for the recipe! This one is definitely far better and healthier compared to the commercially prepared ones because its all natural! I really do appreciate it that this time, I can even make some adjustments to the recipe to make it my own, and I will enjoy it more! Thanks again.
