Lower Cholesterol Naturally with This Cholesterol Lowering Tonic
If your blood cholesterol levels are too high and you really would like to bring them down quickly, then try this recipe for “Cholesterol Lowering Tonic”.
I found this recipe in “The Complete Book of Juicing” and – since I know a lot of people who have high cholesterol (including my husband), I thought this will be a great recipe to post on this juicing recipe site.
Carrot-Apple-Garlic-Ginger Recipe for Cholesterol Lowering Tonic
Here is the recipe for the tonic:
4 whole carrots
Handful of parsley; to absorb some of the smell of garlic
1 clove of garlic
1/4-inch piece of ginger root
1 Apple sliced
1 (Optional) Splash of Hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
First, run the ginger and garlic through your juicer. The best way to do it – to reduce some of the strong odor of garlic – is to wrap them in the parsley leaves and feed them into the juicing machine.
Next, juice the carrots and apples. Add some hot sauce for more punch, if you like.
This combination of ginger, garlic, and capsicum in the Tabasco sauce is recommended as a very effective mixture for lowering cholesterol levels. These ingredients may also work well to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, as they work in concert to prevent blood platelets from bunching together.
Tips for Lowering Cholesterol Naturally

Lower cholesterol naturally with food
What you need to do is to take an honest look at everything that you consume throughout the day to see what foods are you eating that are contributing to this problem.
Keeping a food diary is a great way to really get a clear picture of what you really eat.
Cholesterol Lowering Foods
To bring down cholesterol levels permanently, you should be eating a diet that consists mainly of cholesterol lowering foods: fresh fruits, vegetables and greens – not just as juice, but WHOLE; as well as whole grains, legumes, and nuts.
You need to cut out completely or significantly reduce the consumption of all animal protein foods (meats and dairy), as well as all processed and high-fat foods, such as white flour, white sugar, etc. – that includes all pastas, cereals, potato chips, French fries, donuts, etc. These foods contribute to higher cholesterol levels, and cause all sorts of other health problems.
I know it’s hard, but try eliminating these foods for just a couple of weeks – as well as adding more physical activity – and see how you feel – and what your blood cholesterol levels are.
I bet you will be amazed!
Herbs That May Help Lower Cholesterol
You may also try herbal products, such as gugulipid, a natural cholesterol-lowering herb, that is an approved treatment for high cholesterol in India. Guggul effectively lowers high triglycerides (by 30.3% in one study). Gugullipid products are available at health food stores.
